As some of you may remember, the NY team used to have a pretty cool dude back in the day playing midfield for us, Joe Vide. He started off as  an unsung player, a late round draft pick. He worked his way into our starting lineup and then into our hearts. He tried hard, played hard, smiled through it all and gave it the proverbial 110%. If you ever met him at a post-match event at GS, chances are you got a smile out of it, because he is a good guy. He even came to hang with us in 101 and bang the drum back in the old Giants Stadium days, some love we got seldom from players back in those days.

Without getting too much into the details, he has come down with Cancer, and could use some help from the soccer community. He hasn’t been in NY colors for a while, but he still cut his teeth with our team, and we will not forget that. We are going to have a card and an ESC shirt for everyone to sign at El Pastor on the 15th, which we will mail to him. He could also use some help of the green variety.
